The world of Grimdark is one without hope, for the Gods are dead, angels and demons are fighting over scraps, leaving mortals and monsters to fend for themselves. With the practice of arcane magic being outlawed and the clerics and paladins going a bit insane without their Divine Patrons, it was up to the Monster Hunters to step up. Monster Hunters share a lot of traits with the 2014 ranger class but where the ranger class was a feel like a bit of a mix bag of slightly related ideas, The Monster Hunter being based off Witchers come off as more focused. Monster Hunter have a Grimoire that have that contains 2 monster types (and more at higher levels) from a list of monsters, this allows Monster Hunter to be at advantage in battle and tracking with these foes. Monster Hunter Faces the same problem as the original rangers where they are not too useful outside of their chosen pray so keep that in mind when choosing this class
The Following are Monster Hunter subclasses
- Carver Guild: The tried and tested method of Monster Hunting, if you want more of the base class, this is the subclass for you. (Grim Hollows: Players Guide)
- Devourer Guild: Consume the monsters that Prey on you to gain some of their power. Be wary, the line between hunting monsters and cannibalism is thin in this line of work. (Grim Hollows: Players Guide)
- Occultist Guild: You gain the ability to cast spell; you may be the one who hunts rogue mages, but you are also know that the folks that fear magic unreasonably can also be dangerous. (Grim Hollows: Players Guide)
