Sorcerers are spellcasters by nature quite literally. Your magic comes from ancient lineages and your mixed blood. You have never touched a spell book, never prayed to a God, or sold your soul to a Demon, your magic is your latent power coming to the surface. Sorcerers are Full caster (get spells at level one) and at level 2 you gain “Sorcery points” to power your “Meta Magic option” which allows to impower or customize your spells. Like other full casters you do not want to be up close and personal when in combat with this class.
The Following are Sorcerer subclasses
- Aberrant Sorcery: You and/or your ancestors have experience something completely different alien and now you gain a powerful Telepathic ability, which allows you to communicate with you party and cast spells without speaking or using hand movements. (Player’s handbook 2024)
- Apocalypse Sorcery: You are one of the few individuals that have the power to see the into the future, seeing the end of the world, you have prepared special scrolls that can also contain your meta magic options as well as spells. (Grim Hollows: Players Guide)
- Clockwork Sorcery: The magic that fuels your power comes from a realm of clockwork efficiency and order. By using this power you can negate the effects of rolling with advantage and disadvantage for friends and foes alike. (Player’s handbook 2024)
- Desert Soul: Your power comes from the heart of the worlds more unforgiving Desserts. When casting spells you can summon sand twister to aid you in battle. (The Griffon’s Saddlebag: book two)
- Divine Soul: Divine Power runs through your veins, how it got there, any mythology major can probably guess. Either way your divine power makes it easier to stay in the fight. (Xanathar’s Guide to Everything)
- Draconic Sorcery: The Draconic power that is has been hidden deep inside you has finally come bubbling to the surface, now you have tougher skin and depending on what type of Dragon you have gained your power from, gain s damage bonus/resistance from that Dragon breath weapon type. - Haunted Sorcery: After a near death experience, you share your body with a spirit that can’t or won’t leave you, on the bright side it will aid you both in and outside of combat. (Grim Hollows: Players Guide)
- Shadow Magic: The darkness that dwells in your soul imbues you with power, you are harder to kill and can call on the shadows to aid you in battle. (Xanathar’s Guide to everything)
- Spellfire Sorcery: You were born with the natural ability to tap into the very source of magic itself, which allows you to heal allies, sear enemies and later absorb powerful spells. (Forgotten realms: heroes of Faerûn)
- Storm Sorcery: You are a living storm, when casting spells gain temporary flight and if that spell deal thunder or lighting damage deal additional damage.
- Wild Magic Sorcery: The magic that dwells within you is wild and chaotic; this allows you stack luck in your favour, but this comes with the chance of your spells gaining magical side effects. (Player’s handbook 2024)
- Wretched Bloodline: Your power comes from an ancestors who broke their pact with a being of great power, over the generation those of your bloodline have learned how to weaponize this curse to drain others luck and strike back against the ones who cursed you in the first place, but the curse still scars your daily life.
- *Runechild: Arcane ruins appear all over your body, these ruins can store the magical power of your sorcery points that can be used to bolster your power and defences against magic. (Tal’Dorei Campaign Settings Reborn)
*Oni Bloodline: Your spirit is one of an Oni, when expending sorcery points your Oni blood bubbles to the surface and manifest as powerful physical features. (Obojima: tales from the tall grass)
